Looking for a sweet little spot to wrap a little tagliatelle around your fork? Slide into Bottega Italiana Berawa and get comfy for an afternoon of authentic Italian eats and ALLLLL the wine! Located along the main Berawa strip, watch the world whizz by as you eat yourself into a four course food coma, grazing like an Italian local on formaggi, salumi, pasta, panini, insalate.. mammamia!
With a name translating to “Italian workshop”, Bottega Italiana pride themselves on their handmade, farm-to-table concept. A gourmet Italian restaurant and boutique artisanal marketplace; Bottega Italiana offers premium Italian products such as fresh homemade pastas and sauces, breads, salumi and cheese.. all house-produced to hit your plate.
The pasta is the star of the show here; handmade and prepared perfectly aldante. Choose from tagliatelle, tagliolini, orecchiette, garganelli or their gnocchi (which might we add is pure comfort wrapped up in a potato blanket!). Pair your pasta with one of their house made sauces; choosing from the “bolognese di anatra” minced duck ragu, traditional “bascilico” green pesto, “pesto della casta” red sauce, “Nduja” cream of spicy sausage and the classic “pomodoro e stracciatella” or “pomodoro e ricotta”.. all prepared just how Nonna intended.
Order a few side plates of garlic bread and a couple of servings of house cured & smoked meats.. wash it all down with a proper imported Italian vino.. and you’ve got yourself a damn good night out.
Though Bottega Italiana is like a nostalgic stroll down an Italian promenade, it’s Canggu where it counts – catering to vegan diners, and the gluten-free among us, with a GF tagliatelle! Bravo!
Even if you’re just ducking in for a quick morning coffee & chocolate bomba, or a sunset vino & antipasti.. a visit to Bottega Italiana is like a hearty smooch on both cheeks for all the senses. A solid Gu Girl fave.
