Feel the low rumble of the engine between your legs as the wind whips through your hair (wear a helmet – safety first!) and you cruise the rice fields of the Gu; Deus custom bike beneath you with a Deus log on the board rack. You’ve just finished the perfect sunset surf, it’s Sunday and you’ve just arrived at the Deus Temple of Enthusiasm. It’s time to party.
That is a picture perfect image of what the Canggu lifestyle essentially is: carefree days that lead into long, steamy nights.
Deus Temple of Enthusiasm has long catered to this lifestyle, and no wonder: this entertainment centre has a little something for everyone, all day and all night long. Come get your early morning coffee and brekkie fix out front and enjoy seeing the once-sleepy village of Canggu wake up. Let the kids run around in the back and nap on the bean bags when they’ve spent all their energy. Fill your shopping bags with endless Deus goods: tees, shorts, boardies, caps, beanies, tote bags and more, or why not go all in and order a custom Deus board or bike? Long lunches quickly turn into afternoon drinks and the selection of evening entertainment is endless: everything from movie screenings, ladies nights, the infamous Tacos and Tattoos “Tattuesday,” to the highlight of the weekly calendar: Sunday sessions at Deus.
Canggu is probably best know for these Sunday sessions, and rightly so. No one puts on a Sunday session like Deus does! Enjoy happy hour drinks from 6-7pm, and stay on to see a live band and DJ closing the night. It’s the place to be seen, guaranteed!
Apart from the consistently great food, delicious cocktails, cold cold beer and epic parties, The Temple, as it’s colloquially called, has much more to it. Hidden in the back, you can see artists create magic: either in the shaping bay where the famous Deus boards emerge from, shiny and ready to shred, or the garage where the custom bikes are put together with love and expertise. The premises also house an art gallery, with changing exhibitions and Canggu’s only photo studio.
If you haven’t been to Deus, you haven’t been to the Gu!
