There is really nothing quite like a breezy rice paddy view, a brewed-to-perfection coconut latte and a comfy cushion for a fruitful day on the tools. Right? WRONG. There is PLENTY like that in the ‘Gu. In fact, there are so many cafes to check your emails from you’d think it was the official language.
But what makes District Canggu on Jl. Pantai Berawa different from all the other options to sip and work? It’s the vibe. I know, I know. Cliché on isle spew. But it’s true; the people who work both for and from District are just… nice. There is no pretension, no hot shots flexing their followings, no obnoxious chatter about who makes more from multi-level marketing and no elitist pricing that profoundly misunderstands the term ‘start up company.’
So here’s how it works: the co-working space is upstairs where there are tables and power plugs in abundance, as well as plenty of creative minds ticking away in sweet, secure silence. There are two meeting rooms, which can be booked at an hourly rate of between 100-200k. The more spacious room is fit with projectors and the scope to chair a 15 person gathering – enough brains for a competitive game of What Do You Meme. The smaller room is perfect for an intimate assembly of 2-7 people – a respectable round of Twister. And here’s something fun. On the third and very top story hides a private, outdoor meeting space which can be hired for anything that requires a little more “natural lighting”. That gu’ey little secret is on the house [Literally].
Memberships tiers start at a daily unlimited for 110k and go up to 1 month unlimited for 1,650k. Good wifi too. Trust us, we tested it!
Working from District won’t just keep your bank account healthy. Downstairs is where those morning, midday, or evening rumbles can be satisfied. The café is fully equipped with a coffee machine, friendly local baristas, a fridge full of alcoholic and non-alcoholic bevs and a kitchen that plates wholesome, handmade and seriously hearty grub. You’re looking at around 60k for an eggs benny, smashed avo or a smoothie bowl, and around 80k for a steak sanga or an Aussie beef burger. Things get interesting in the PM when the dinner menu comes out too. There’s a choice of Japanese or Indonesian. Who wouldn’t stay late at the office for that?!
But just in case the aforementioned isn’t incentive enough for you to start your own online side-gig and practically move in, District hosts regular events like movie nights, live art and wellness activities to keep you involved and inspired.
So… you know what to do. Gather your thoughts, devices and stretchiest day wear, and settle in for distraction free day of getting fed and getting paid. Chaaaa-ching.
