After trying the smoked pork ribs, we didn’t think we needed yet another reason to dine at La Finca – but guess what? There’s a new menu we are pretty excited about. The obsession deepens.
After calling Spain his home for over a decade working kitchens in Ibiza – the saucy Chilean Chef Bastian is no stranger when it comes to Spanish cuisine. He’s always mixing it up, adding to the menu and specials board to keep us coming back for more. But don’t panic! All your favs are still there too, these newbies are just here to keep you on your toes.
Gu Guide can recommend getting handsy with the Almejas a la Marinera: clams fisherman style with garlic, parsley and white wine. Don’t be shy – no fork required here. Just pick those badboys up with your fingers and get stuck in. Next up, the Chipiron Renello. Grilled baby squid with braised pork belly, apple and caramelized onions. My two favourite things in one dish?! Si, señor! And the presentation? Had me climbing on the furniture, risking life and limb to bring you the ultimate foodie flat lay. You’re welcome. Seafood not your bag? Then you N E E D to try the Carrileras de Cerdo Braseada. 24-hour braised pork cheek with roasted pumpkin puree and glazed shallots. Who knew pork could be this tender? Hands down fave.
If you don’t have a Spanish grandmother (Abuela) who fed you tortilla for breakfast, lunch and dinner let us tell you something – you’ve been missing out. The Tortilla de Patatas is a Spanish omelette with potato, onion and green paprika, toasted bread and green tomato. Bastian’s rendition is traditional, authentic and downright killer. Abuela would approve. Crispy shrimp with salsa brava de piquillos take your fancy? Try the Gambas Fritas. For the scallop lover – introducing the Vieras con pure de Guisantes. Grilled scallops, green pea puree, chorizo dust and crispy garlic. Want more suggestions? Sorry, needed to save room for dessert!
The new addition to the dulce menu is the perfect way to complete the transition to food coma. The Tarta de Santiago – almond cake served with espresso ice cream and crispy caramel. You had us at crispy caramel!
