Have you ever wondered how it would be living in an art gallery, surrounded by extravagant pieces of art, custom made furniture and eccentric installations – well, if you book a stay at Lalaland Villa you can experience all of the above!
Lalaland villa is everything but your typical holiday stay – owned by a property developer from India and his wife, an Italian architect, the villa was built 15 years ago, and served as a family home up until a year and a half ago, when they completely renovated it.
The villa has 5 bedrooms with air conditioning: master, children’s room, 2 bedrooms in the guesthouse, 1 extra bedroom in the main villa; 6 bathrooms with a bath, open air shower and organic toiletry products; and 3 pools: entrance pool with the bicycle installation, patio pool, guesthouse pool.
There is a fully equipper kitchen with an open-air dining area, with a triangle table (perfect for dinner parties). 24 hours there is kitchen staff available – the breakfast is included and for the rest of the meals they will charge you for groceries plus 20% of it.
Lalaland staff office is located by the entrance the property, which is together with the security available to the guests 24 hours.
Outside the villa there is a nice organic garden, where they grow pineapples, herbs, chilies, tomatoes etc. that they use to prepare the meals and the drinks for the guests. The smoothies they make are delicious!
The sun sets right above the paddies that the villa is located on, so there is special G&T garden patio offering the front row view for you to sit back, relax (with a Hendrick’s in your hand) and enjoy those cotton candy pink skies.
If you are travelling with children a big attraction of the house will for sure be the tree house above the rice fields. If not, it is a perfect hideaway for you to read a good book and enjoy the view from the above.
The owners love art and they are very passionate about each other, which can be seen in a lot of art pieces around the house that they created. They also feature work of many young Indonesian artists around the villa.
One of the coolest things of the property is the endless book and magazine collection (from children’s books to architectural magazines) – they said they once wanted to count them all, but couldn’t because there are too many.
If you wish to make your holiday an active one the staff can arrange a personal trainer, a yoga teacher or masseuses to come to the villa. The villa is also equipped with yoga mats and resistance bands, so the guests are welcome to exercise on their own; there is lots of space in the garden. There is also a Ping-Pong table is located in the upstairs attic area.
Still not convinced? The outside bathroom is basically a huge egg; the majority of the ceiling in the guesthouse is made out of hanging seashells; and, wait for it, there is a soft bubble balls sofa (it was designed by the villa owners and the W Hotel in Seminyak loved it so much, they bought the same one for their lobby). So, you can basically have a soft ball pit right in the middle of your living room – you tell us: does it get any better than that?
