Take your tastebuds on a rickshaw ride through Vietnam’s fabulous, fresh & flavourful cuisine, with a trip to Canggu’s new Saigon Street location. Saigon Street Bali has long been the island’s best name in Vietnamese food, their flagship Seminyak restaurant a firm favourite amongst Bali foodies. The latest Seminyak-to-Canggu import, Saigon Street Canggu is a welcome addition to our weekly eat-out repertoire.

Saigon Street pays homage to classic and regional Vietnamese dishes with an exciting spin. The menu curated by their award winning executive Chef, Geoff Lindsay features light and healthy dishes to be savoured and designed to be shared. Their bar is open until late, offering a list of bespoke cocktails and a varied wine list.

Saigon Street Canggu nail the authentic Vietnamese flavours, each dish featuring the perfect sour, bitter, sweet, spicy & salty balance. Think crispy-fried spring rolls with pork and prawn, lettuce wrap and nuoc cham dip, or their mouthwatering Peking duck steamed buns with pickled cucumber, chili, spring onion, coriander & hoisin sauce. The best damn Banh-Mi we’ve ever tasted (EVER!), get their Pork loin, pate and terrine crispy baguette in your belly.. you can thank us later.

With plenty of options to satisfy the plant-based among us, may we recommend the Dalat curry of roast pumpkin, mushroom & eggplant, with basil & cashew, the tofu and mushroom rice paper rolls with peanut sauce, or the sweet corn broth with nasturtium leaf dumplings, sugar snap peas, baby corn, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and green chilli herb sauce.. yum!

And did we already mention the drinks menu? Light, refreshing and hitting all the right buttons. The “Good Morning Vietnam” is a Bloody Mary remix worth a few mornings of your time, the “Frozen Coconut Daiquiri” is a solid Gu girl fave (10/10 will daiquiri again!), and the chilli-infused “Bang Bang” is a firey start to a night out.

If booze isn’t exactly your cup of tea, then make sure that the Vietnamese coffee is – served with condensed milk AND vanilla ice cream, you won’t want to share.. so make sure you order one for everyone!

Looking for a sweet spot for a fresh feed & a sneaky few bevvies with your girl gang? Make Saigon Street your go-to for a rice-filled feed, with a rice field view.
