Find yourself on the Canggu foodie trail? Make sure a visit to Zin Café is top of your bucket list. A breezy beachside nook tucked up off the main Batu Bolong drag, you’ll find Zin Café right the way down Jl Nelayan (yep.. the shortcut road, road.), just a short sandy-footed stroll from the shores of Pantai Nelayan.
A sun soaked open-air venue split over two levels, Zin Café welcomes foodies, digital nomads and a solid crew of committed coffee dailies with some of the cushiest, most inviting sofa seating in the hood. Cuddle up with you co-work crew on the bench, or slink into a soft wicker seat for a solid day of work, fired up on their top notch Bali beans.
Whilst we are on the topic of killa local produce.. Canggu is home to endless organic cafes, vegan restaurants, gluten-free alternatives and all kinds of fun-free options. And we dig that, sure. But Zin Cafe has upped the ante a little bit with their social responsibility; 99% of the menu is sourced in Bali when possible, and Indonesia if not. That’s right – minimal carbon emissions and maximal utilisation of beautiful local produce of this little archipelago. Though we may love Swiss cheese, Italian ham and Mexican tequila, we love our planet more and when presented with the opportunity to dine sustainably, you can bet we’re going to be the first ones eating through the entire menu, and feeling great about it as we do.
Now, let’s talk food. The Zin Cafe line-up has found a permanent spot in our hearts, and hopefully a less-permanent one on our waistlines (give me ALLLL THE FOODS!). An Australian chef-curated menu that is tropical and contemporary; expect playful dishes with subtle aromas and flavours, like the Babi Guling Scotch egg, Ceviche with Jimbaran dressing and our Gu girl favourites; the Handmade Pappardelle Rendang Ragu (drool), the “Handsome” cured leg ham sandwich, or the textures of Coconut with pomelo. Enak sekali!
The coffee obsessed among us will be buzzing to hear that the Zin beans are carefully sourced from the organic farm of the Sudana family at the Kintamani mountain (#siplocal), with world class head roaster Daniel blending a natural, washed and honey processed drop with sweet, deep and rich flavours. It’s a big YES from us!
Before you slink off into the Canggu sunset, make sure you get to know their lush cocktail menu. Perfect for a sneaky sundowner, they’ve curated a fresh AF list of libations, shaken with their very own house distilled palm and coconut Arak. Cheers!
